STAYING SAFE

The safety of the children who are placed with us is paramount. We work at all times within the Children’s Homes Regulations 2001 and The Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010 documents and hope to exceed these expectations.

We work closely with the Kent Local Safeguarding Children Board and our policies are guided by their policies. All staff have an extensive induction program with regards to Safeguarding children and no staff member is employed before all relevant checks and CRB’s are carried out.

We believe that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and in particular protecting them from abuse and harm is a shared responsibility and depends on effective joint working between staff, relevant agencies and their professionals.

All staff have a responsibility to report any suspicions they have, that a child has or may be mistreated or harmed; and to take all allegations seriously, and report them to their manager or an independent person - such as the child's social worker, Police, or the NSPCC. All staff understand their commitment under the home’s Whistle blowing policy.

The main child protection policy is available on request
